Dental Insurance and Tax Returns: Top Tips for Consumers in the 2012 Tax Season

Dental Insurance and Tax Returns: Top Tips for Consumers in the 2012 Tax Season

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 29, 2012

Today DentalInsurance.com, a leading innovator and provider of dental insurance and discount protection to individuals and employers, released tips for consumers and an infographic about using dental deductions and tax-favored health plans to gain the greatest personal tax advantages.

“For consumers who qualify, there are several ways to offset the cost of dental insurance and other dental-related expenses when tax season rolls around,” DentalInsurance.com Director of Business Development Avery Smith explained. “Since 2001, DentalInsurance.com has been dedicated to helping people get the most for their money when it comes to dental care, and these tips and the accompanying infographic are meant to help taxpayers use dental deductions and tax-favored health plans to their maximum benefit.”

Dental Insurance and Tax Returns: Top Tips for Consumers During Tax Season in 2012

1.    Consumers should find out whether they qualify for a tax deduction – and whether taking the deduction makes sense. The IRS only allows consumers to take a dental deduction if the total amount of all medical and dental expenses combined exceeds 7.5 percent of the taxpayer’s adjusted gross income (AGI). For example, a person with an AGI of $ 100,000 would need combined medical and dental expenses of more than $ 7,500 to qualify, and only the expenses that exceeded that amount would be eligible for a deduction. Note that deductions for medical and dental expenses are only available when a taxpayer chooses to itemize all of their deductions, which may not always provide the greatest tax savings. (See infographic, Dental Insurance and Your Tax Return.)

2.    If a consumer decides to itemize, they should take into account everyone whose expenses they have a right to claim. Qualified dental expenses include those a consumer pays that are related to themselves, their spouse, and their legal dependents. For a child’s expenses to be included, he or she must be under the age of 19 or a student under the age of 24 for whom the taxpayer provided at least 50 percent support during the year being reported. Dental expenses incurred by live-in relatives’ (parents, siblings, in-laws, etc.) may also be deductible depending on the taxpayers’ specific circumstances. Some special rules and exceptions apply in cases of divorce, separation, and multiple support agreements.

3.    Understand what dental-related expenses qualify for a deduction. To qualify for a deduction a dental expense must have been paid for during the tax year for which it is being claimed. It does not matter when the services were provided. The expenses must be incurred for the purpose of preventing or alleviating a dental disease. This includes insurance premiums, expenses related to diagnosis or prevention, cures (including prescription medications), mitigation, or related treatments, out-of-pocket expenses, and even transportation costs if they were related to certain dental procedures. Taxpayers may not claim a deduction for expenses for which they were reimbursed.

4.    Take advantage of other tax-favored opportunities. In most cases, it does not make sense for consumers to itemize for medical and dental deductions. However, there are several opportunities for consumers to realize tax advantages related to dental expenses. For example, consumers may use a health savings account (HSA) or a flexible spending arrangement (FSA) to pay for dental insurance. Detailed information about each of these tax-favored health plans is available from the IRS.

Fitness Marketing Program Teaches Personal Trainers How To Outsource & Grow Their Businesses Ten-Fold In 2012

Fitness Marketing Program Teaches Personal Trainers How To Outsource & Grow Their Businesses Ten-Fold In 2012

Chino Hills, CA (PRWEB) January 13, 2012

Personal trainers learn all about anatomy, physiology, physical fitness testing, nutrition and health issues in school and credentialing programs. However, effective fitness marketing strategies and business coaching aspects are largely ignored. Many trainers find that they are professionals at what they do, yet they struggle to make a livable income because they don’t know the path toward growth for their businesses.

“I think a lot of trainers are working 50-60 hours a week and struggling to make ends meet,” explains fitness marketing expert and self-made millionaire Sam Bakhtiar. “It’s tempting to blame it on the economy, but that’s just an excuse. People still want to be healthy and boot camps are making it a more affordable goal than ever. The truth is that you just can’t operate a fitness business by the seat of your pants. You need a system.”

Sam admits that for many years, he had a big ego and the “I can do it myself” attitude. Yet, he met a couple of fitness marketing millionaires who taught him the value of outsourcing so he could focus on his core business – the training, the sales closing, and the creative brainstorming.

There is no better way to learn than to receive a full step-by-step blueprint of an effective fitness marketing campaign, which is what Sam Bakhtiar provides with his mentorship. “With the help of a great friend/mentor/coach like Sam, the hardcore contributors on this site, all of the great content on this site… I’ve finally been able to delegate, outsource, and automate nearly every aspect of my fitness business,” says Kaiser Serajuddin, a graduate of Sam Bakhtiar’s fitness marketing mentorship program. “I’m at the point where I could take three months off and come back to find my fitness business has grown,” he adds.

Kaiser explains that Sam taught him how to create an enjoyable atmosphere that would attract a loyal, dedicated team of assistants who would work hard for him. He learned how to attract competent stars and top performers to his business – and retain them. Fitness marketing outsourcing includes hiring additional trainers, maintenance staff, sales staff, a web and art team, writers, and online marketers.

“You can’t overestimate the value of a good coach. Sam has been a complete game-changer for me,” Kaiser says. “When it comes down to coaching experience, level of trustworthiness, and character, no one holds a candle to ‘Seven Figure’ Sam. Our businesses will always be a work in progress, but this fitness marketing mentorship has allowed me to put all my time and energy into taking care of my customers while growing my business at the same time.”

Danville’s Fit Personal Fitness Studio Introduces Kerry Silverstone

Danville’s Fit Personal Fitness Studio Introduces Kerry Silverstone

East Bay Fitness

Danville, CA (PRWEB) August 12, 2011

Danville’s Fit Personal Fitness Studio is the alternative to today’s fitness centers. Offering a private training center environment, Fit Personal Fitness Studio offers the space and atmosphere for individuals to get one-on-one training and motivation from their personal trainer, and also for personal fitness professionals to bring their clients to an environment conducive to fitness and training.

Located in downtown Danville, Fit Personal Fitness Studio offers East Bay trainers and clients alike the opportunity to enjoy state-of-the-art equipment and advanced training techniques while following a personal training program. Fit Studio attracts clients who are highly motivated by their personal health and fitness goals.

One of their personal trainers in Danville, Kerry Silverstone, is a Certified Pilates Master Trainer. She has been a fitness instructor since 1981 and is now in her 30th year coaching clients to be healthier, happier and to discover the joy in movement. She was one of the pioneers of Step Aerobics and her current passion is Pilates.

“I have taught at large health clubs and in smaller venues,” said Ms. Silverstone. “Both have their benefits, but after living in Danville for 15 years, I was so excited to find Fit Studio. To me it is the ‘’Cheers” studio because it’s a small, intimate environment where everybody knows your name. My clients and I all love Fit because it’s private, it’s small, it’s caring and it becomes home for many people in the community who are not looking for a big health club but instead are looking for fun, friendships and results.”

Ms. Silverstone calls her Pilates studio at Fit, her “Piloft,” since the space is upstairs and private. She and her clients laugh, have fun and work hard on the Pilates Reformer.

“After building a following for nearly four years, I can honestly say my clients have adopted Pilates as a lifestyle,” Ms. Silverstone added. “When they don’t get their classes in for a variety of reasons, they really feel the lack of Pilates on their bodies. The core work, muscle toning, flexibility and joint mobility focus keeps them coming back for more. And they come back because they love Fit, where fitness is fun.”

For more information on Fit Personal Fitness Studio, contact them at (925) 208-4048 or visit them on the web at http://www.fitstudiodanville.com. They are located at 294 B Railroad Avenue Danville, CA 94526.

HealthFitness Adds More Than 25 Clients as Employers Adopt 21st Century Health Benefit Design

HealthFitness Adds More Than 25 Clients as Employers Adopt 21st Century Health Benefit Design

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) February 1, 2008

HealthFitness (OTC BB: HFIT) added more than 25 new clients in 2007, growing its workplace population health programs with a vision for a healthier, more productive workforce. HealthFitness is a leading provider of employee health management programs. Managing more than 400 fitness centers globally, the company also offers a suite of health management services on-site, Web-based and telephonically.

The lion’s share of new contracts in 2007 was in the company’s health management division. HealthFitness championed a new emphasis on 21st century health benefit design that takes a holistic approach to designing benefits for the entire employee population—from fitness programs for those who are well, to health management programs for those who are at low to high risk for chronic disease. New clients included health plans and universities in addition to employers in the manufacturing, high tech and health provider sectors.

“The vision for 21st century health benefit design provides tools so employers can support a workplace culture of health,” said Gregg O. Lehman, Ph.D., president and CEO of HealthFitness. “The traditional focus on providing services only for those who are ill ignores the poor health habits that put workers at risk for chronic disease. By providing tools to address preventable behaviors such as poor diet, physical inactivity and tobacco use early, employers can help employees lead healthier, more productive lives.”

Employers who embrace Lehman’s vision of 21st century benefit design can expect to see improvements in the bottom line. A study released in late 2007 by the National Business Group on Health and Watson Wyatt Worldwide reported that companies with highly effective health and productivity programs are 3.5 times as likely to report lower medical costs; are more likely to report declines in incidental sick pay, short- and long-term disability costs; and are much more likely to have lower incidences of paid and unpaid leave.

In 2007, more than 150,000 employees nationwide participated in health risk assessments (HRAs) administered by HealthFitness and nearly half a million participants are currently eligible to take a HealthFitness HRA. Some 77,000 participated in company health screenings conducted by HealthFitness across nearly 1,200 locations. After receiving their confidential HRA results from HealthFitness, participants are prompted to take part in health management programs designed to reduce their individual health risks.

“Steady growth in the health management division is a signal that employers and health plans recognize the benefits of addressing health needs before they become acute,” Lehman said. “HealthFitness is responsive to the needs of this market for health risk prevention programs as more studies underscore the connection between chronic illness and productivity.”
